How many momme should good silk have?

Short answer: momme (mm) is the unit that measures the weight and density of silk: the higher it is, the more substantial and durable the fabric. For silk scarves, 12-16 momme is excellent (light and fluid); for silk pillowcases and bed linen, 19 momme and up is considered high quality, with 22 momme as the premium benchmark.
